Live Music for Council & Community Events

For over a decade, Atlantic Street Band has provided live jazz and brass band entertainment for South Australian councils, festivals and public events. We’re listed on the City of Marion Artist Register and the City of Port Adelaide Enfield Musician Listing, and have a proven track record delivering reliable, professional entertainment for citizenship ceremonies, street activations, markets, festivals and civic celebrations across the state.

Why Councils Book Us

  • A 5-year resident band relationship with Bay to Birdwood, providing 3 simultaneous acoustic quartets across the West Beach starting line and Birdwood finish site — proven experience delivering entertainment at scale, across multiple locations, for a single event
  • Listed on official council artist/supplier registers — City of Marion and Port Adelaide Enfield, so you can engage us through your existing supplier processes
  • Repeat bookings from Walkerville Council (Walkerville Comes Alive, SALA), City of Charles Sturt (Coastal Sounds Festival), and City of West Torrens (Fire & Spice Festival)
  • Comfortable across formats — roving acoustically through a crowd, or a fixed stage performance, scaled to your event’s format and budget
  • All-ages appeal — our jazz and swing sound has consistently engaged crowds ranging from toddlers to octogenarians at the same event
  • Straightforward to work with — clear communication, reliable turnaround on quotes and logistics, and experience navigating council event requirements (bump-in/out times, noise considerations, public liability)

Where We Fit

Festivals & Street Activations Roving acoustic sets that move through a crowd rather than staying fixed — ideal for markets, street parties, and festival grounds. See our Roving Acoustic Band page →

Citizenship Ceremonies & Civic Celebrations A dignified acoustic lineup suited to formal council occasions, alongside the flexibility to shift into a livelier set for the celebratory portion of an event.

Markets & Community Days Adelaide Central Market, local street markets, and community fun days — where a roving band adds atmosphere without needing a stage or dedicated performance area.

Large-Scale, Multi-Site Events Our Bay to Birdwood residency demonstrates our ability to resource multiple simultaneous lineups across different event locations — relevant if your event spans more than one site or requires entertainment at both a start and finish point, or across several zones.

FAQ Section

Do you have public liability insurance?

Yes we do, through Duck For Cover and can provide a Certificate of Currency.

Can you provide multiple lineups across one event or multiple sites?

Yes, demonstrated through our 5-year Bay to Birdwood residency, where we provide 3 simultaneous acoustic quartets across two locations.

What’s your typical setup/bump-in time?

For totally acoustic sets we arrive 30 mins prior to kick-off, but we actually only take 2 mins to get instruments out of their cases. For sound checks with your AV tech, a simple line check 10-mins before our set is usually sufficient since we are largely (or sometimes completely) acoustic and we like to keep stage volume low so setting foldback levels is a breeze.

Do you have experience with council event requirements (noise restrictions, timing, permits)?

We are experienced at following all instructions surrounding noise levels etc.

Are you listed on any council supplier registers?

Yes, City of Marion’s Artist Register and City of Port Adelaide Enfield’s Musician Listing.

What’s the cost for a council/community event booking?

Prices for a trio start from approximately $1000. Contact us for a quote based on your event’s format and duration and we can give you some options around our different sized configurations.
