About Atlantic Street Band

Atlantic Street Band has played New Orleans-style traditional jazz, swing and brass band funk across Adelaide and South Australia for over a decade — the same core lineup, playing genuine jazz, swing and Latin-flavoured standards rather than chasing modern chart hits.

Our Story

The four founding members of Atlantic Street Band were the horn section and drummer from Adelaide soul-funk group The Transatlantics, who enjoyed some national touring success. From busking in Rundle Mall back in 2010 (see the video →) and being booked by passers-by for weddings and private events, we soon built a trusted network of council and corporate clients — many of them repeat clients — and that momentum has carried through to today.

We’ve had the same core lineup for over a decade, with a couple of original members having moved on and roots going back to our earliest days busking on the streets of Adelaide in 2010. With over 15 years of history behind us and still going strong, we’ve performed at over 300 events across South Australia.

What Makes Us Different

We’re not a covers band chasing every modern chart hit (although at times we do unexpected jazzy covers). Our sound is built on genuine jazz, swing and Latin-flavoured standards — the kind of music that suits a crowd wanting something distinctive, not a generic function-band playlist.
