Medium bio (for festival guides & event programs, ~95 words)
| Since forming as a group of Elder Conservatorium uni students busking in Rundle Mall in 2010, Atlantic Street Band has become one of Adelaide’s most in-demand live acts, with 300+ performances across South Australia. The band specialises in roving, interactive jazz — moving through crowds rather than staying on a stage — for everything from Adelaide Oval and the Adelaide Convention Centre to council festivals and weddings. Clients book the musicians directly, with lineups scaling from an acoustic trio to a full roaming ensemble depending on the event. |
Long bio (for feature articles & full press kits, ~185 words)
| Atlantic Street Band began the way a lot of great street jazz does — busking in Rundle Mall in 2010, when the horn section and drummer of Adelaide soul-funk outfit The Transatlantics started playing New Orleans-style jazz for passers-by. Word travelled fast, and what started as busking turned into weddings, then corporate bookings, then a fifteen-year run as one of Adelaide’s most established live acts. Today the band has played 300+ events across South Australia, from a five-year residency at Bay to Birdwood and five years supplying music for Adelaide Central Market’s Seafood+Sounds series, to four consecutive years at Siemens’ Adelaide Oktoberfest and stages including Adelaide Oval and the Adelaide Convention Centre. What sets Atlantic Street Band apart is the roving format: rather than staying on a stage, the band moves through the crowd, playing genuine jazz, swing and Latin-flavoured standards and drawing guests into the performance — not a covers band with a set list, but a live, interactive experience built for festivals, activations and celebrations alike. |
